minimalexperimental

minimalexperimental is a platform for online and offline design exhibitions. We want to encourage designers to be more daring, to experiment more, not to choose the most available solution to any project. We are here to promote graphic designers and to promote experimental design as contemporary form of expression. For the time being we will organize exhibitions in Romania.

onlab

onlab is working on commissioned, collaborative as well as self initiated design projects and
is a co-founder of etc publications, a platform for independent publishing based in Berlin. The different identities and platforms enable to find various approaches and systems in developing solution-oriented and structured method of working as well as looking at cultural differences and similarities subjectively.

onlab explore the ways to stage complex contents to convey relevant topics and, in doing so, accompanying changes in perceptions.

onlab state his position by linking the contents and aesthetics of the productions with elements of topicality. The essence of a task and of a project is always the guide to solving it, unfolding an emotional and accessible dimension. Only then can a committed project explore fact or fiction.

video on Flickr

Some disagree and some found this a great update on Flickr. The reality is Video on Flickr is here. As far by me Flickr is best way to share photographs and graphic design artworks with the rest of the word via internet.
In this post you can see an example how video streams looks like via Flickr. Not as good as youtube or Vimeo (the best for video arts).
This video is made by Natzke on of the masters of contemporary video art and installations, enjoy.

HORT IN JUST OVER 100 WORDS A creative playground. A place where 'work and play' can be said in the same sentence. An unconventional working environment. Once a household name in the music industry. Now, a multi-disciplinary creative hub. Not just a studio space, but an institution devoted to making ideas come to life. A place to learn, a place to grow, and a place that is still growing. Not a client execution tool. HORT has been known to draw inspiration from things other than design.

Lunatic Harness

copy & paste from Sleevage

The hardest part about having a name like µ-Ziq is asking someone at the record shop if they have them in stock. Also where do you file it under M, under U or with the numbers?

The cover is as ambiguous as it comes. Is he waiting to interview people or just really likes the feel of wood grain? Or is he a mime (you cant see his face) about to perform on some decks?

The whole cover seems like it should be an interface for a website or interactive clip (ala Neon Bible). You just want to click his hands and start making music.

The photo is actually a good lesson for photographers. If you want to make your shots more interesting get creative with the angles. This shot from any other angle would have been boring.

The design studio behind this is Blue Source, who along with Big Active and Farrow do probably 85% of the music design in the UK. The photographer is Amber Rowlands who sadly hasn’t done any other cool music related photography.

µ-Ziq also released an EP for this with a similar concept. Although you lose some of the effect by showing less of the person.

p.s. one of the best cover by my opinion that I have seen. See how minimal and clear is and how the fonts that used is merge nicely with the photo. No need to know m-ziq and what kinda of music plays, the outwork speak by it self.
